When I click on the emblem in Device Manager I posted to Dell Forums about the issue and they responded that it doesn't appear to be a Dell issue but a Windows Insider build issue about which they know nothing. I do use restart not shut down and reboot.

I assume that when you Restart, you are choosing Restart or Update and Restart and not Shutdown. Don 2012 Alienware Aurora R4 ALX Intel i7-3960X, 32GB RAM, 250GB NVMe SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 What error is shown if you open the device with the yellow exclamation mark?

Click properties (or printer properties).
#DELL 2350DN FIRMWARE ERROR WINDOWS 10#
Click your printer in the list and either right click / properties or as in the example if you have windows 10 click ‘Manage’. However, since you say it shows an issue in Windows Device Manager, that suggests something more is wrong. 1.On your computer navigate to the printers and devices in control panel.
#DELL 2350DN FIRMWARE ERROR UPGRADE#
Upgrade still needing to be done and that the error will vanish with a clean boot. My guess is that Dell's update utility is somehow confused about the BIOS 900.XX Firmware or RIP Errors on the 2350d / 2350dn Dell. Use msconfig to disable all non-Microsoft services and use Task Manager to disable all Startup items. You could try a clean boot, which ought to disable Dell's utilities temporarily. You can usually reinstall the same BIOS update as you currently have installed, so you can try downloading it again.
#DELL 2350DN FIRMWARE ERROR INSTALL#
You should be able to download and install the BIOS update separately from using Dell's automated update checker. Usually there is a way to install BIOS upgrades from bootable media, but doing it from within Windows normally works as designed. See if others are reporting this on Dell's support forums, or if it is only happening with Windows 10 version 1703 or with even newer Insider builds. However, I'm concerned I have a latent issue with a potentially corrupted BIOS.ĭoes the **EndUpdate failed 0x00002225** error code mean something specifically? I've searched everywhere I can online.Īt the end of the 3 phases when the downgrade was attempted and I received the error I received a green colored "Update Successful" as if it's not reflecting on the Phase 2 error at all. That sounds like something you should check with Dell.

exe which consists of the three phases mentioned above.Īlso, the computer boots and *seems* to operate fine. Note: I'm only using the Dell approved single Dell file. But when I try flashing with the latest version, Phase 2 is always skipped. exe again (to ensure I don't have a corrupted downgraded version) Phase 2 is completely omitted as if it recognizes it's still on the latest already.Īt all times, the Dell BIOS portions Phase 1 & Phase 3 work just fine.Īt this point I would be satisfied using the latest BIOS and forget about the downgrade entirely. So, now when trying to install the **latest** Dell BIOS. I've tried to contact Dell and separately Intel to have a ticket created for an engineer to reflect on the specific error and get a better understanding of what's going on to no avail. Subsequently, I've read that apparently you can't "downgrade" Intel ME Firmware.Īfter the error for Phase 2 is displayed, it just automatically moves onto Phase 3.īecause it was an attempted downgrade (and it's apparently not allowed), does the error simply mean it threw it out at the end and it reverted? If so, **why couldn't it just compare version numbers and simply skip the step** like it does when trying to over-write the **latest with the latest** (zero seconds elapse when trying to "refresh" latest with latest)? Phase ** 2.a** and ** 2.b** both took about 20 to 30 seconds - so "something" was actually being done. ** Phase 3)** EC Bios *(completed 0 to 100 just fine)* ** Phase 2.b)** "Waiting for ME FW Update to complete" (completed 0-100%, but displayed the error) ** Phase 2.a)** "Sending Intel ME Firmware" (completed 0-100%) ** Phase 2)** Intel ME Firmware update <= **EndUpdate failed Error 0X00002225** (even though it completed 0 to 100% progress bar) ** Phase 1)** System Bios *(completed 0 to 100 just fine)* It seems that Dell BIOS update for the system has 3 phases: "ME Firmware EndUpdate failed Error: 0x00002225" While downgrading (using the official Dell. I tried to post this in the most relevant (firmware related) developer forum group. I was recommended to try posting this here by Intel Technical Support after receiving an inadequate response from the trouble ticket they submitted on my behalf
